Why do some Meta enhancements appear enabled when editing my ads in Ads Manager?

You may notice that certain enhancements or features appear as enabled when opening an ad in Edit mode in the Ads Manager, even though they were not originally selected in the Kitchn Launch Sheet.

This can be confusing; here’s what’s happening.

🧠 What’s going on

When creating ads through Kitchn, enhancements are not enabled unless you explicitly configure them.

However, when you click Edit in Meta Ads Manager, you may see some options displayed as “On”.

From our testing, this appears to be part of Meta’s interface behavior:

  • Some features are shown as pre-selected suggestions when editing

  • This does not necessarily reflect the original configuration of the ad

  • The enhancement will only be applied if you click Save with that option enabled

👉 If you open the ad and click Cancel, the original setup remains unchanged.

⚠️ Why this can be confusing

Meta’s editing interface may display suggested features as enabled, even if they were not part of the original ad setup.

This is controlled by Meta and can sometimes be misleading when reviewing an ad.

🔍 How to confirm your actual setup

To verify how your ad is really configured:

  • Check the Ad Preview

  • Review your Launch Sheet settings in Kitchn

These will reflect the configuration currently applied to the ad.

💡 What to do

  • If you don’t want an enhancement applied → do not click Save

  • If you already saved by mistake:

    • Edit the ad again

    • Turn the feature off

    • Save

📝 Note

We’ve flagged this behavior to Meta, as it can be confusing during the editing process.

At the moment, this is part of Meta’s interface and not something that can be controlled from Kitchn.
